In a nutshell

A few sketches and stuff that I have been doing. Everything is taken with my phone, unless otherwise stated. I don't really hae time to (ok, just being lazy) to scan in and adjust the colours and all..

During soccer lecture. I'm not the most attentive student around.

The following sketches were done in my square book, with Tombo Playcolour2 marker. I'm testing out a new medium. I quite like this marker so far, but I'm still getting used to it.

One of my favourite subjects.

A landscape?

it writes nicely as well.

Can you believe i did this without drawing guidelines? I can't. Haha! Used a photo for reference.

Self-portrait. Sat on my bed staring at a mirror.
And here is me getting an Airbrush tattoo!

I don't think I will be getting a real one.. Too afraid of regrets.

Have a great day!

Comic con!

So today Janell and I headed down to Comic Con and boy was it inspiring!

Here are some photographs from today:

An incredibly inspiring are the people I've met as well.

Click here to read about all the artists!

My favourites, at glance are:

1) Gunawan Lo
2) Bitter Stickgirl - whom i did not get a chance to meet! Pity! I read her book.. So nice!)
3) Chin Yew - Also did not get to meet.. Love his comics! His style is super cute.
4) Andrew - Really nice guy, great comics.
5) Dave Chua - This is the kind of thing that inspires me!

I do feel that there should be more female graphic artists! The girls there tended to do more of manga-style things, which is ok, but wouldn't it be interesting to read something from a female perspective? Hehe I'm jut saying.

I had a great day, and hopefully in two years, I would have my own booth, maybe?

Have a good day!

And an important lesson taken from today:
Draw from life. :)

Sketchy Musings Book 1

It is finally here!

I would like to thank some people specifically:

My mum and Janna - For teaching me how to use a scanner.

Faisal - For furrowed eyebrows and sighs of exasperation, and also for layout techniques and overall worry that my pages won't fit. And also attempting to teach me Japanese binding (which I MAY do for my next books) sine "30 pages is too thick to staple! It won't be nice! You have to bind it! That's what I would do for my books..."

Janell -  For getting me started on this whole business (as in, the business of zine making.. not some money making venture okay.) and also for printing advice. AND also stapling advice "30 plus pages you want to bind? You can still staple!" and also other ways to keep my paper together.

Ah hem.

I used a ribbon to tie the centre. About 30 plus pages of sketches and some amateurish writing. This one has a few dreams. Home of the first ever Bunny comic!
